Karva Chauth is one of the most important festivals celebrated by married women in India. It falls on the fourth day after Purnima or a full moon day, usually around October-November every year. On this day, married women observe fast from sunrise to moonrise to pray for their husband’s long life and well-being.

The day begins with married women dressing up in their finest traditional attire and gathering before sunrise at a designated place where they perform pooja together. After the completion of the puja, food is distributed as prasad amongst all participants. During the day, it is important to abstain from consuming any kind of food or water until the moon rises in the night sky.

The fast ends with a prayer to the Goddess Parvati for a long and prosperous married life for their husbands. After that, they usually break their fast by eating sweet dishes or sweets made of sesame and jaggery along with water. Husbands also give gifts such as new sarees or jewelry to their wives as a token of appreciation.

Apart from being a day to observe fasts, Karva Chauth is also special because it brings together family and friends who exchange gifts and wishes amongst each other. Wishes come in the form of karva chauth quotes or messages which symbolize love, loyalty, faithfulness, and prayer for each other’s well-being. People also share special karva chauth wishes with their friends and family to make the day even more special.

So this year, let’s celebrate the festival of Karva Chauth with all its joyous traditions and cherish it with our loved ones! May the festival bring you lots of love, happiness, and prosperity! Happy Karva Chauth!
